I’m trying to learn a beautiful little composition in raag Kafi for . Kafi is parallel to Dorian mode in western music, but with specific rules.

It’s only two stanzas, but my gosh the nuances—microtones, ornamentation, glides— in Indian music are so difficult to get right!

I’ve been listening to this performance of Kafi by my teacher Debashish Bhattacharya for inspiration.
